(Watts, Compton, Inglewood, Long Beach, East L.A.), Baltimore, Maryland (as protrayed in a TV show called "The Wire" ?), "The Blues Brothers," or "Adventures in Babysitting" (with Elisabeth Shue ("The Karate Kid"): it was filmed in Chicago and Toronto). People call that a stereotype & a hood generalization, that is protrayed in various Hollywood TV shows and movies. If you live in any big city, expect crime to happen... no matter where you live; don't be surprised (go to websites, like: crime spotting, crime mapping; spot crime = just punch in either the local area or zip code, to see if there are any sus(picious) acts happening.) (Maybe (outsider) people don't really know anything unless they actually lived in a specific area, for decades.)

When I was your age, I had a dinner club with my friends called Dinner at 8. Cocktails were at 7 and to this day those are some of the happiest memories I have of Las Vegas. NOTHING brings people together like good food and warm hearts.

That would be so much fun to come to when I eventually get there, hopefully sometime next year now. Things like that would be just what I would need and would look forward to, though at least I have one close friend now with a condo in Lakeview, and know a number of others, but are just acquaintances.

Affordable? They start at $1165/mo. Not that affordable considering you have to share your space with others. I prefer a studio to myself. I think it's a great option for college students who have parents that can pay their rent or grad students who take out private loans.

We go to Chicago every July for a week (Monday to Monday or Friday to Friday) and we love it. I want to move near there so I can go to a lot of the events that happen. We have gone in May, July and October. Our normal time to go is in July. I can tell you that a week is never long enough. SOOOOO Much fun.
